Elīna Gediņa graduated from the contemporary choreography department of the Latvian Academy of Culture in 2011 where she studied under profesor Olga Žitluhina. Elīna Gediņa works as an independent choreographer and dancer. She has created contemporary art performances such as Rezervisti and Korpuss, and worked on the choreography for theatre performances like Angels in America at the Daile Theatre, Sarkangalvīte un vilks (Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf) at the Latvian National Theatre, and Summerfolk at Mikhail Chekov’s Russian Theatre in Riga. In 2015 she started collaborating with director Viesturs Kairišs and artists Krista and Reinis Dzudzilo. These collaborations have resulted in several performances: the operas Le Villi and Der fliegende Holländer at the Latvian National Opera, the performances Peer Gynt, Uguns un nakts (Fire and Night) and Salome at the Latvian National Theatre, as well as the performances King Leer at the Russian Theatre in Riga and Balladyna at the Valmiera Theatre. As a dancer Gediņa has worked with contact Gonzo, Koen Augustijnen, Branko Potochan, Willi Dorner. She was one of the artists participating in the 13th Baltic Biennale in 2018.
