LIENE GRAVA graduated from the Latvian Academy of Culture in 2011, receiving a professional Bachelor’s degree in Contemporary Dance Choreography. Since 2010, she has been collaborating with major theatres in Latvia. She has received the Latvian National Theatre Award Spēlmaņu nakts for the productions Piaf and Damned Red Moon (Sasodītais sarkanais mēness), as well as several nominations for outstanding artistic work.
Her choreography credits include a number of significant theatre productions, among them 1984, Theatre (Teātris), People in Boats (Cilvēki laivās), and others. In 2017, she participated as choreographer and assistant director in the Liepāja Theatre production The Wedding (Precības), directed by Sergejs Zemļanskis.
In 2025, she began her collaboration with Sudalinna Teater in Tallinn, where she created the choreography for the musical CABIRIA. In the same year, together with the music group Tautumeitas, she represented Latvia at the Eurovision Song Contest, creating the choreography for the performance Bur man laimi.
Liene Grava has received the Latvian Dance Award for her contemporary dance productions Pāru terapija, Cik saules mūsos, PusOtrs, and Abas malas.
As a choreographer, she has also created movement direction for productions at the Latvian National Opera, including The Immured (music by Ēriks Ešenvalds, directed by Laura Groza-Ķibere, 2016) and L’incantesimo. Pagliacci (directed by Aik Karapetian, 2019).
