Mezzo-soprano DIĀNA BISTERE received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, where she studied in the class of Professor Aira Rūrāne. She has further developed her vocal skills in masterclasses with distinguished teachers and singers, including Liene Kinča, Margreet Honig, Alice Coote and Dale Fundling.
Diāna Bistere made her debut on the stage of the Latvian National Opera in 2019, performing the role of Mother Jeanne in Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites. She has also performed several roles at the opera studio Figaro: Olga in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin, Lyubasha in Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Tsar's Bride, Dorabella in Mozart’s Così fan tutte, and Suzuki in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly. Her concert repertoire encompasses a wide range of vocal and sacred music, including Stabat Mater by Giovanni Batista Pergolesi and Requiem by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The singer has also actively participated in various concert projects, chamber music programmes, and early music festivals.
Diāna Bistere is a finalist and special prize winner of the Corsica Lirica Competition 2024 (France), and the Grand Prix laureate of the 5th International Monika Swarowska-Walawska Vocal Competition 2025 (Poland).
