Latvian coloratura soprano ANNIJA KRISTIĀNA ĀDAMSONE has established herself as a rising talent on both the Latvian and international opera and concert stages in recent seasons. She first appeared at the Latvian National Opera at the age of ten as the First Boy in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte. Since 2024, she has enjoyed considerable success as Olympia in the new production of Offenbach’s Les Contes d’Hoffmann. At the 2026 Riga Opera Festival, she performed the role of Adina in Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore, while the 2026/27 season also sees her take on the role of Sophie in Richard Strauss’s Der Rosenkavalier.

During the 2024/25 season, Ādamsone was a member of the Theater Trier ensemble, where she made four role debuts: Zerbinetta in Richard Strauss’s Ariadne auf Naxos, Adele in Johann Strauss’s Die Fledermaus, Despina in Mozart’s Così fan tutte and Adina in Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore. Her repertoire also includes the Queen of the Night in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, a role in which she is scheduled to make her Semperoper Dresden debut in the 2026/27 season.

Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana holds a prominent place in her concert repertoire. She has performed the work at renowned venues including the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Kölner Philharmonie, KKL Luzern, deSingel Antwerp, Isarphilharmonie Munich and Liederhalle Stuttgart, as well as at the Rheingau Music Festival. Her concert repertoire also includes Brahms’s Ein deutsches Requiem, Dvořák’s Stabat Mater, Fauré’s Requiem, Mendelssohn’s Paulus, Mahler’s Eighth Symphony and other major choral-orchestral works.

For her portrayal of Olympia in Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Ādamsone received the Latvian Theatre Award Spēlmaņu nakts. In 2025, she was awarded the Latvian Grand Music Award 2024 in the category Young Artist of the Year, as well as the Pauls Sakss Recognition Award. She also received the Audience Prize at the International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition. Ādamsone is a recipient of the Baltic Opera Awards Rising Star Award and has served as an artist-in-residence at Latvian Radio 3 Klasika.

After graduating from Riga Cathedral Choir School, Ādamsone obtained her bachelor’s degree from the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, where she studied with Professor Antra Jankava. In 2023, she completed her master’s degree at the State University of Music and the Performing Arts Stuttgart under Professor Ulrike Sonntag. She has further developed her skills in masterclasses with Nelly Miricioiu, Raúl Giménez, Giuliano Carella, Margreet Honig, Claudia Friedlander, Alice Coote, Joy Mammen, Matthias Klink, Thomas Leininger, Lisandro Abadie and others.
