Soprano

Latvian soprano AGATE GRĪNHOFA is a student at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, having begun her musical training at Riga Cathedral Choir School. She made her debut on the stage of the Latvian National Opera and Ballet in 2014, performing in the children’s opera The Potato Opera. Since then, she has taken part in a number of opera and theatre productions both in Latvia and abroad.

At present, she is active on the Latvian music scene primarily as a soloist in chamber music and large-scale vocal works. Her artistic career also includes work at the Dailes Theatre, where she made her debut as a soloist in autumn 2024, performing the role of Elīza in the musical production The Wild Swans. In 2026, Agate made her operetta debut as Cunégondein Leonard Bernstein’s Candide as part of the Cēsis Arts Festival.

Alongside her studies at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, Agate regularly participates in masterclasses, concerts and competitions, and has received prizes on several occasions. These include second prize at the international singing competition Vienna International Musikfest 2025, as well as the Audience Award and the Latvian National Opera and Ballet Special Prize at the 5th Jāzeps Vītols International Vocal Competition.

In pursuit of her own distinctive sound and means of expression, Agate complements her classical vocal studies with training in acting and musical theatre singing techniques.
