Aivars Krancmanis

AIVARS KRANCMANIS graduate from the Latvian Academy of Music in 1982. Additional vocal training at the Moscow Conservatory. First Prize winner in the Georg Ots International Vocal Competition, Tallinn, Estonia (1987). A soloist at the Latvian National Opera since 1981. Winner of the Pauls Sakss Music Award conferred by the Fraternity Talavija (1995).
 
In 1992-1993 made guest appearances at the Royal Swedish Opera, Stockholm: Fiesco in Verdi's Simon Boccanegra, Kotchubei in Tchaikovsky's Mazeppa (conducted by Gennady Rozhdestvensky and starring Nicolai Gedda). In 1992 participant at the Dreieich Festival (Germany).Master classes in Italy with Prof.Katia Angeloni studying Scarpia in Puccini's Tosca and Fernando in Rossini's La gazza ladra at Rome's Teatro Manzoni. Toured with the LNO to Germany, USA, Sweden, Russia, England, Spain, Italy, Switzerland and Finland, Israel and Taiwan.
 
Numerous concert appearances: Mozart's Requiem, Verdi's Requiem, Messa di Gloria by Puccini, Stabat Mater by Dvorak, Die Schopfung by Haydn, Stabat Mater by Rossini, Ein Deutsches Requiem by Brahms, Paulus by Mendelsohn, cantata God, Your country is burning by Lucija Garuta.
