MARGARITA DEMJANOKA is a dancer characterized by elegant and contemporary artistry who performs a large scale repertoire from classics (Grand Pas in Petipa's Paqita, Giselle, Aurore, and Odette-Odile) to modern ballet (Eifman's Anna Karenina, soloist in Wainrot's Tango Plus and Voyages a.o.).
In 1996, Margarita Demjanoka graduated from the Riga Choreography High School, class of Regīna Kaupuža. She became a member of the LNO Ballet Company in 1996, and the Principal Dancer in 2000.
Margarita Demjanoka has participated in several inernational competitions including Vaganova Prix, Arabesque (2001, Perm) and Nuriev - 2000 (Budapest). She was awarded the Latvian Theatre Award as the Best Dancer of the Year (2003), Annual Aldaris International Award (2003), Latvian Great Music Award (2003), and Latvijas Gāze Annual Award as the Best Dancer of the Year (2008).
Margarita Demjanoka has danced Nikiya in the new production of Minkus's La Bayadère at the M.Jalil Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre in Kazan in 2008.
With the LNO Ballet Company she has toured to Germany, Holland, Finland, France, England, USA, Denmark, Russia, Austria, Belgium. She has been a regular guest soloist at Jalil Opera and Ballet Theatre in Kazan.
In season 2009/10 Margarita Demjanoka was the Principal Dancer of the Hong Kong Ballet (HKB). Her reperoire in HKB included Cinderella in Cinderella, Steptext in Forsyth, Nikya in La Bayadera, Pas de deux in Symphony of 3 Movements (choreographer Nils Christie), Pas de deux in In Light and Shadow (choreographer Krzystof Pastor), Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker (choreographer Stephen Jeffries), Nurse in The Firecracker (choreographer Yuri Ng), Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty, Odette/Odile in Swan Lake.
Margarita Demjanoka and Sergei Neikshin have danced in Swan Lake in the Sobin's Ballet Festival (Saratov) in 2011.
