Mezzo-soprano ANNA MATIS was born in Kamchatka. In 2012 she graduated from the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Nice (CRR) in class of Elizabeth Vidal. From 2012 to 2014 she continued working on her skills at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome with Renata Scotto, but from 2015 to 2017 – at the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Centre with Makvala Kasrashvili.
In 2017 Matis received scholarship by Wagner Society, giving her the opportunity to visit Bayreuth. Since 2018 Anna Matis is a soloist of the Mariinsky Academy of Young Opera Singers. She made her debute at the Mariinsky as the Amneris in Verdi’s Aida at the premiere in Vladikavkaz. Her repertoire includes Snow Queen (Banevich’s The Story of Kai and Gerda), Gertrude (Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel), Ghita (Zemlinsky’s The Dwarf), ghost (Rimsky-Korsakov’s Servilia), Oleśnicki (Rimsky-Korsakov’s Pan Voyevoda), Nicolette (Prokofiev’s Love for Three Oranges), Smeton (Donizetti’s Anna Bolena), René (Shostakovich’s Orango), girl (Prokofiev’s Alexander Nevsky), Larina (Tshaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin) and Carmen (Biset’s Carmen), among others. Anna Matis has participated in the guest performances of the Mariinsky Academy of Young Opera Singers in Italy, Great Britain and France.
