Interplay of ages, people, and feelings in music and poetry. The soprano Evija Martinsone offers quality chamber music close to her heart, sharing the stage with her colleagues and outstanding musicians, Guntis Kuzma (clarinet) and Agnese Egliņa (piano).
European romantic chamber music will be performed in the first part of the concert, including such composers as Fernando Obradors, Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms, and others. The second part is devoted to Latvian music. The audience will have a chance to hear compositions written for this particular trio: the song cycle “Neither wisdom, nor anger come to mind” (lyrics by Knuts Skujenieks) by Georgs Pelēcis, who received the 2018 Grand Music Prize for it, and the new composition “Three Japanese Haiku” by Anna Veismane who wrote it on a nice summer day specially for Agnese Egliņa and Evija Martinsone.
According to the restrictions in place in the country, the Latvian National Opera and Ballet offers attendance to the Evija Martinsone Recital only at one safety level – without face masks (for vaccinated persons and persons recovered from Covid-19).
