Joseph Kudra

Choreographer's Assistant

Joseph Kudra is a multifaceted artist from Chicago, Illinois, whose dynamic career has spanned the globe. He has performed with a wide range of acclaimed companies, including DanceWorks Chicago, Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet, BODYTRAFFIC, Ate9 Dance Company, Aszure Barton & Artists, Kamea Dance Company, Eastman | Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, Rambert Dance Company, and, most recently, House of Dance | Shahar Binyamini. Renowned for his exceptional versatility and depth as a performer, Joseph has contributed to both original creations and celebrated repertory, collaborating with some of the most influential choreographers of our time, including Andonis Foniadakias, Emanuel Gat, Johan Inger, Jiri Kylian, Anton Lachky, Alan Lucien Øyen, Arthur Pita, Crystal Pite, Alain Platel, Victor Quijada, Hofesh Shechter, and Imre and Marne Van Opstals. In addition to his performance work, Joseph is a sought-after choreographic assistant and stager. He has worked closely with Gustavo Ramírez Sansano and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, staging works for leading institutions such as Ballet Hispánico, the Opéra National de Paris, and Introdans. In 2024, he served as choreographic assistant to Alexander Ekman for the Paralympic Opening Ceremony in Paris. Since then, Ekman has entrusted him with staging his works internationally, including productions with Atlanta Ballet, the National Ballet of China, and the Latvian National Ballet.

Joseph currently performs worldwide alongside ballet icon Natalia Osipova in her acclaimed program Force of Nature. He is also a core artist with Shahar Binyamini’s House of Dance, where he performs and stages Binyamini’s work—most recently for the Armenian National Opera and Ballet Theatre.

A dedicated educator and mentor, Joseph is regularly invited to teach workshops across North America, the Caribbean, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Drawing on his expansive experience and deep-rooted understanding of movement, he remains committed to fostering community and sharing the transformative power of dance worldwide.
