ANTONS FREIMANS graduated the Riga Choreography School in 2008 and joined the Latvian National Ballet; he has played numerous roles in both classic and contemporary productions. He has also performed with Indra Reinholde’s Chamber Ballet, as well as in Gala Concerts in Finland (the Lapenranta Ballet Gala, 2011) and Latvia (Ballet Stars in Jūrmala, 2014), and in Ulyana Lopatinka’s Grand Tango Gala in Russia and Ukraine (2012-2013). In 2013 he received his choreography degree from the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music.
His choreography – Hipokampa traģēdija (2012), Bulduri (2013), 1002. nakts, Remsleep (2014), Better Do Something Mild; Past Disappears; Vformation (2015) – has been included in classical and contemporary ballet evening Possible... and other concert programmes. Antons Freimans is the choreographer of the ballet one-act Hamlet (2019), which, in tandem with Elza Leimane's work Tell me (no) Tales, received the Latvian Dance Award 2019-2020 in the category of Ballet Production or Event.
