NEXT GENERATION 

This season, the Latvian National Opera and Ballet is joining NEXT GENERATION, an initiative launched by the organisation Opera Europa. This important project is supported by the European Commission as part of its Creative Europe programme. With a €2.8 million grant covering four years (2025-2028), the platform aims to support emerging artists across Europe, fostering their professional development in opera and dance.

44 organisations across 17 countries have already joined the initiative, offering a wide range of opportunities for young performers and other creatives including training, mentorship and support in building their international profile – made possible through Opera Europa’s streaming platform, OperaVision. Participating institutions include La Monnaie – De Munt in Brussels, MusikTheater an der Wien in Vienna, the Paris Opera, Dutch National Opera & Ballet, the Polish National Opera, the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet, as well as the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona.

LNOB is proud to join this dynamic partnership, fully committed to nurturing fresh talent. Through performances, masterclasses, competitions and digital projects, LNOB will enable young artists to gain access to valuable resources that support them in building a rewarding and sustainable career. This collaboration is a testament to our continued dedication to promoting artistic excellence and to securing a bright future for opera and ballet in Latvia and wider Europe.
