ALEKSANDRA ASTREINA graduated the Pāvuls Jurjāns Music School in 2002, and the Emīls Dārziņš Music School and Riga Choreography School in 2006. In 2015 she received her master’s degree in choreography, as well as her professional certificate, from the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music. She has performed at the Latvian National Ballet since 2006, visiting in shows in Italy, Finland, Russia, Spain and Germany, among others.
Her choreography has been included in numerous concert programmes: in the contemporary and classic ballet evening Possible (her pieces being Tetramorph, Moments, Sveču gaismā, Bezmiegs, Mīlestība un neprāts, Sarkana nāves maska) and in the International Baltic Ballet Festival Gala Concert (with Moiras). She has also contributed to choreography for productions of La Peau de Chagrin in the Riga Latvian Society House, various gala concerts, theatre productions and fashion shows, as well as international ballet competitions in Poland, Latvia, Bulgaria and Seoul.
