Aira Rūrāne

Soprano
AIRA RŪRĀNE has studied at the Jāzepa Mediņa Riga Music College. In 1997, she graduated from the Jāzepa Vītola Latvian Music Academy and received a bachelor degree in vocal arts. In 1999, she graduated the masterclass of prof.Regīna Frinberga.
 
Since 1995 is soloist at the opera studio Figaro, since 2000 is a freelance soloist at the Latvian National Opera and since 2006 - the soloist at the LNO.
 
Her repertoire includes Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro, Hansel in Hänsel und Gretel, Clarina in La Cambiale di Matrimonio at the Opera studio's productions as well as Katerina Izmailova and Aksinya in Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk, Tatyana in Eugene Onegin, Eurydice in Orfeo ed Euridice, The First Dame in Die Zauberflöte, Frascquita and Micaëla in Carmen, Senta in Der fliegende Holländer, and Karolka in Jenufa at the Latvian National Opera.
 
The soloist also has performed solo soprano parts in German Requiem by Brahms, Dixit Dominus by Handel, St.John's Passion by Bach, Stabat Mater by Pergolesi among others with the Latvian National Symphonic Orchestra, Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, chamber orchestra Rīgas kamermūziķi and The New Chamber Orchestra of Riga.
 
She is a laureate of Latvijas Gāze Annual Opera Award (2007, 2008).
