-8 received his bachelor and master’s degrees from the New Media Art faculty of the University of Liepaja and is currently working on his master’s degree in set design at the Latvian Academy of Art. He created his first video projections in 2009 for the Liepaja band The Briefing. -8 has plied his trade as a VJ in the rave scene, created architectural projections, worked on fashion shows and award ceremonies, and has also done video installation work. Since 2013 he has worked on more than fifteen productions at different theatres in Latvia. He worked on the Latvian National Opera productions of Macbeth (nominated for Spēlmaņu nakts Award, 2016), The Immured, The Rose of Turaida, The Rake’s Progress, as well as the balets Hamlet and Tell Me (No) Tales (nominated for Spēlmaņu nakts Award, 2018) . -8 has shown his work in nine collaborative exhibits in Latvia, the Netherlands and Czech Republic. The artist has been the set designer for four theatre performances and a short film Mr K.
