Born in the UK, JOHN-PAUL PERCOX worked at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden for both The Royal Ballet and The Royal Opera from 1994 reaching the position of Team Manager (Lighting) until leaving to go freelance (and move to Scotland) in 2019. He worked numerous times abroad for the both companies in places as far afield as China (Beijing National Centre for the Performing Arts) and Israel (Tel Aviv Performing Arts Centre).
John worked on approximately 200 productions/over 1500 performances at the ROH. He has worked with many Lighting Designers including Giuseppe Di Iorio (Morgen und Abend), Mimi Jordan Sherin (Anna Nicole), Bruno Poet (Don Giovanni) and Lucy Carter (Obsidian Tear, Chroma).
Since going freelance John has worked at Houston Grand Opera (Don Giovanni for Bruno Poet), Opéra National Bordeaux (Obsidian Tear for Lucy Carter), Oslo Opera House (Chroma for Lucy Carter) and at the Teatr Wielki Warsaw (Mayerling for John B Read). Upcoming work includes at Czech National Theatre (Eden | Eden for Charles Balfour) and Hungarian State Opera’s Eiffel Arts Studio (Chroma for Lucy Carter). This is his first time working at Latvian National Opera and Ballet
