Argentinian lighting designer HORATIO EFRON began his professional career in 1984 as a lighting assistant. Currently he creates lighting design for large events at a national and international level. Member of ADA (Argentinian Scenic Designers’ Association).
Horatio Efron has designed for operas The Coronation of Poppaea, The Magic Flute, Don Giovanni, Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny, Carmen, Tristan and Isolde, Werther, Elektra, The Rake’s Progress, Faust, Makbeth, Othello, Eugene Onegin, Le Nozze di Figaro, Rigoletto, Tosca and Gianni Schicchi / Il Tabarro, among others. He has created designs also for theatre productions, music festivals, concerts of popular music, as well as brands such as MTV, Disney, Louis Vuitton, and many other. Artist has collaborated with theatres and venues in Argentina, Mexico, France, Peru, Brazil, Canada, Israel, Canary Islands, Lebanon, Uruguay, USA, Venezuela, Chile, Colombia, Cuba and Bolivia, among others. In 2014, he created lighting design for Le Nozze di Figaro at the Latvian National Opera and Ballet.
Horatio Efron is one of the founders of the Estudio del Altilllo, an enterprise offering graphic, branding and communication solutions to its clients. From 2012 to 2014, he was the Technical Director of Teatro Argentino de la Plata. From 2016 to the present, he is the Head of the Scenic and Exhibition Lighting Area of the Kirchner Cultural Center. For many years has been summoned for conferences, workshops, study programs and other events dedicated to teaching the profession, as well as has carried out consulting work for theaters and auditoriums.
