Latvian National Opera and Ballet will open it’s 2022/2023 seasons on August 14 with the Solo Concert by the outstanding soprano Inga Kalna. Singer will be accompanied by the Latvian National Opera Orchestra and conductor Mārtiņš Ozoliņš. Inga Kalna is a singer with a beautiful soul, a warm heart, impeccable vocal technique and knowledge of a musicologist. Brilliant in the repertoire of different eras and styles, highlighting the characteristics and essentials in each of them. Currently, the artist lives in Hamburg, but in her anniversary year she wants to delight loyal listeners also in Latvia.

The production of Franz Lehár's  operetta "The Merry Widow" will begin its stage life at the Latvian National Opera on September 22. One of the world’s most popular operettas had its world premiere in Vienna in 1905. It premiered at the Latvian National Opera in 1933. The new production of the operetta is being staged in our opera house under the direction of the musical director and conductor Thomas Rösner and the stage director Uwe Eric Laufenberg.

After a long break, two opera productions will return to the LNOB repertoire in the Great Hall - Gaetano Donizetti's comic masterpiece "Don Pasquale" (August 21) and Georges Bizet's masterpiece "Carmen" (October 6). In the New Hall the audience will be offered the performance “Cantando y Amando” (October 20) with music by Astor Piazzolla.

The October repertoire includes several concerts and performances for the youngest spectators. Concert "Mazulis ausās, mūziku klausās", intended for spectators from 0 to 4 years of age, will be available at the Dress Circle Hall. In the New Hall, a little older children are invited to the performances of opera "Amahl and the Night Visitors" and concert program "The Magic Door at the Opera".
