Ticket sales for performances and concerts in January, February, and March 2026, including the premiere of the operas Cavalleria rusticana and Pagliacci, as well as the Season Opening Gala Concert, Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 8, and chamber music concerts, will begin on June 16 at 11:00 for the priority group. General ticket sales will open on June 17 at 11:00.

The Latvian National Opera and Ballet Season Opening Gala Concert will take place on September 3. The program is divided into two parts: the first dedicated to ballet, and the second to opera. The concert will offer a preview of the upcoming season and a retrospective of the most brilliant artistic highlights from previous productions.

On September 13 and 14, under the musical direction of conductor Tarmo Peltokoski, Gustav Mahler’s monumental Symphony No. 8 one of the most impressive vocal-symphonic works in music history – will be performed at the Latvian National Opera. The performance will feature the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, eight internationally acclaimed soloists – Chen Reiss, Silja Aalto, Annija Kristiāna Ādamsone, Justina Gringytė, Zanda Švēde, Tuomas Katajala, Rinalds Kandalincevs, and Ain Anger – as well as the State Choir Latvia, the Latvian National Opera Chorus, and the Riga Cathedral Girls’ Choir Tiara.

The premiere of Pietro Mascagni’s Cavalleria rusticana and Ruggero Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci, directed by Aik Karapetians with visuals by AJ Weisbard, will take place on February 17. Cavalleria rusticana revives the idyllic life of a Sicilian village – just as it becomes tainted by betrayal and jealousy. The peasant girl Santuzza has her heart broken by her fiancé, Turiddu, who is infatuated with Lola, the beautiful wife of the wealthy Alfio. In her despair, Santuzza reveals the affair to Alfio, setting the stage for his inevitable revenge. In Pagliacci, which director Aik Karapetian previously staged at the Latvian National Opera in 2019, themes of love and betrayal are interwoven into both the performances of traveling comedians and their private lives.

During the 2025/2026 season, four chamber music concerts of different moods will be held in the Dress Circle Hall: Reverberations devoted to the Latvian chamber music on October 11, Frequency of Soul: Chopin on November 29, To Pianist Mārtiņš Zilberts’ Birthday. Continuation on December 8, as well as Serenades of Romanticism on February 14, 2026.

Younger audiences will be captivated by the ballet Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs by composer Uģis Prauliņš and choreographer Regīna Kaupuža, where the beloved fairy tale is brought to life by students of the Riga Ballet School. This ballet will be performed only once during the season – on September 15.

Tickets are available at the LNOB box office and online.
