Ticket sales for performances in the first half of 2025

The Latvian National Opera and Ballet will begin ticket sales for performances taking place from January to May 2025. Tickets will be available for priority groups starting June 11 at 11:00 AM, and for the general public starting June 12 at 11:00 AM

We invite audiences to attend two new productions – Richard Strauss's opera Salome directed by Alvis Hermanis and Cesare Pugni and Riccardo Drigo's ballet La Esmeralda choreographed by Aivars Leimanis. The repertoire will also see the return of Giuseppe Verdi's opera Macbeth.

The extensive and diverse repertoire of the Latvian National Opera and Ballet offers something for both classical and contemporary production enthusiasts. The first months of 2025 will also feature a wide range of performances for younger audiences, including beloved ballets like The Nutcracker, The Jungle Book, Karlsson Flies..., and, of course, The Birds’Opera.

On January 17, the production of Giuseppe Verdi's opera Macbeth will return to the repertoire. The production was created by Stage Director Viesturs Meikšāns, Set Designer Reinis Suhanovs, Costume Designers MAREUNROL’S, Video Artist -8, Choreographer Linda Mīļā, and Lighting Designer Kevin Wyn Jones.

On February 21, the premiere of Richard Strauss's opera Salome will take place, directed and designed by Alvis Hermanis. The opera's libretto is a translation of Oscar Wilde's famous play Salome into German. Princess Salome of Judea is infatuated with Jochanaan, the prophet of new faith. When King Herod invites Salome to perform a dance for him, she demands a ruthless price in return – the princess wants the prophet’s head… Although the action is set in ancient Judea, in the production, Stage Director Alvis Hermanis will transport us to modern Israel – a place where ideologies and religions have tangled in a tight knot, more so than anywhere else in the world.

On April 10, the Latvian National Ballet will expand its repertoire with a new production of Cesare Pugni and Riccardo Drigo's ballet La Esmeralda choreographed by Aivars Leimanis. La Esmeralda is a simple yet powerful story of love and death. Its libretto is based on Victor Hugo's famous novel The Hunchback of Notre-Dame. Aivars Leimanis's La Esmeralda will be the fourth production of this romantic tale in the history of Latvian ballet, with medieval ambiance brought to life by set designer Mārtiņš Vilkārsis and costume designer Ilze Vītoliņa.

Ticket sales for New Year Gala concerts, the new production of Antonín Dvořák's opera Rusalka, and the performances at the very end of the season, as well as for concerts and performances in the New and Dress Circle Halls, will be announced separately in the fall.

Tickets can be purchased at the LNOB box office and online. We invite you to explore the repertoire and choose your favorite productions:
