Sandis Voldiņš Appointed as Chairman of the Latvian National Opera and Ballet
Following an open competition announced by the Ministry of Culture, Sandis Voldiņš has been appointed as the Chairman of the Board of the state-owned limited liability company, the Latvian National Opera and Ballet (LNOB). Voldiņš will officially assume the role on November 4th, 2024, while continuing to fulfill his current responsibilities until then. A new competition will be announced for the remaining two positions on the LNOB Board. In the interim, the LNOB Board will operate with only two members.
Sandis Voldiņš holds two master’s degrees—one in arts and the other in law—and brings extensive experience in cultural and arts management within various cultural institutions. He has successfully led large-scale content, development, and infrastructure projects. Currently, he serves as a Board Member at LNOB, where for the past five years he has overseen marketing and audience development, as well as fundraising and real estate matters. Additionally, Voldiņš is a Board Member of the Latvian Music Council and the Association of Professional Music Collectives, and he serves as a guest lecturer and council member at the Latvian Academy of Culture.
