On September 13, 2024, Pablo González will conduct opera "Turandot"
The performance of Giacomo Puccini's opera Turandot on September 13, 2024, will be conducted by the Spanish maestro Pablo González.
PABLO GONZÁLEZ recently completed his four-years long term as the Principal Conductor of the Spanish Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra (RTVE) and Artistic Adviser to the Orchestra and Choir. Pablo previously served as Music Director of the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona I Nacional de Catalunya, as well as Principal Guest Conductor of the Orchestra of the City of Granada. Russian and German symphonic repertoire of 19th and 20th centuries features most prominently among Pablo’s core repertoire. Pablo enjoys a flourishing guest conducting career and has established close relationships with, among others, the Helsinki Philharmonic, Dresden Philharmonie, Stavanger Symphony, Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège, Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern, Bochum Symphony, Residentie Orchestra in the Hague and Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana. In his native Spain, Pablo is in high demand and enjoys fruitful collaborations with the country’s most prestigious orchestras. Equally passionate about opera, distinguished opera highlights of recent seasons include successful Glyndebourne tours of Don Giovanni and L’elisir d’amore; Carmen in San Sebastian and Tosca, Don Giovanni and Madama Butterfly in Opera de Oviedo. In April 2024 Pablo González conducted the World Premiere of Zarqa Al Yamama at the King Fahad Cultural Centre in Riyadh, the first opera ever produced by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The title role of Turandot on September 13 will be performed by Jūlija Vasiļjeva, but Gaston Rivero will interpret the role of Calaf. Other cast: Dana Bramane, Edgars Ošleja, Armands Siliņš-Bergmanis, Guntars Ruņģis, Raimonds Bramanis, Andris Kipļuks, Juris Ādamsons, Rihards Millers and Aldis Bērziņš.
