On March 9, 2024, Maestro Alvise Casellati will conduct opera "Nabucco"

On Saturday, March 9th, the opera Nabucco by Giuseppe Verdi will be conducted by the Italian maestro Alvise Casellati, who will be visiting the Latvian National Opera for the first time.
ALVISE CASELLATI has collaborated with many important theaters and orchestras in Italy, including Teatro La Fenice Venice, Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia Rome, Teatro Regio in Turin, Opera di Roma, Arena di Verona, Teatro San Carlo Naples, etc. Internationally he has collaborated with theatres and orchestras in China, Austria, Russia, Poland, Croatia, Slovenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Latvia and USA, among others. Maestro Casellati has been invited to participate in St. Margarethen Festival, Arena di Verona Opera Festival, Spoleto Two Worlds Festival, White Nights Festival, Cartagena Festival Internacional de Música, Nervi International Music Festival, festivals in Teatro Greco Taormina, Villa Bellini Catania, and many others. He is the Founder and Music Director of Opera Italiana is in the Air, created in 2017 with the mission of making the beauty of Italian opera accessible to everyone. He is committed to projects of social responsibility and the rediscovery of forgotten Italian repertoire. As Resident Conductor of the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa in 2014, he made his opera debut with Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia and then Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore.
Baritone Jānis Apeinis will perform the title role in the performance on March 9th. In other roles: Jūlija Vasiļjeva, Andris Ludvigs, Laura Grecka, Edgars Ošleja, Guntars Ruņģis, Evija Martinsone, and Rihards Mačanovskis.
