Cast Change for Giuseppe Verdi’s "Aida" on June 18!

Due to illness, Anita Rachvelishvili will not be performing the role of Amneris. She will be replaced by Nino Surguladze.

It is with a very heavy heart that I must announce the cancellation of my upcoming performance at the Latvian National Opera House in Riga. After battling a very difficult and acute bronchitis and infection for the past month, I have now developed a severe case of laryngitis. Despite my best efforts to recover in time, my doctors have advised that I must rest my voice completely in order to heal properly.

I have been looking forward to making my debut on this beautiful stage for a long time, and it is deeply disappointing and upsetting not to be able to share this special moment with you all. Please know that this decision was not made lightly, and I am truly saddened that I will not be able to perform for the wonderful audience in Riga as planned.

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your understanding and support during this difficult time. I promise that as soon as I am able, I will return to Riga with great joy, whether for this role or another, and I look forward to finally making my debut at the Latvian National Opera House.

Thank you for your kindness and patience. I hope to see you all very soon.

With warmest regards,  Anita Rachevilishvili
